If only we can come as one voice and one people. We got so many Ego's and we don't trust each other that is a shame. Some of us make pennies and don't want to look at ways we can make real money for ourselves and up life our communities. We still have this idea that some one else will solve our problems for us when WE have the brain power to do the changes for our self.
I was so happy that the NAACP reached out to Rev. Dr. Wright for their dinner last year. What it told me and others in the community that We will not stand here and let others tell us who we can have as part of our family and who we can and can not associate with. For once they took a stand and not on who is supporting them but who has the best message for our community to hear and react to. In the words of the first lady "this is the first time that I can say I am PROUD to be a member of the NAACP."
We got elected officials that need our support but they also need to know our (Black-African-Americans ) agenda. I attended a meeting just a few weeks ago and I was disappointed that we the black concern community did not have an agenda to give to the people who were invited to the meeting stating our concerns and solution as we saw them. I am so tired of us giving awards to elected officials who has done nothing to help us move our agenda forward. I am so tried of the same three words that have been called out from all of marches and meeting and the like. The same three words that have been the rallying cry from the time of slavery to the march on Washington DC in "63" -"JOBS AND JUSTICE"
We talk a lot and say nothing.......Enough Talk ...........let's get it done..................
